The 73rd Nepalese Democracy Day was celebrated by organizing a special ceremony at Sainik Manch Tundikhel.
After the end of 104 years of Jahanian Rana’s rule on Falgun 7, 2007, the Republic of Nepal is celebrated every year to commemorate the historic day.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Permanent Chief Justice Harikrishna Karki, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, ministers, high-ranking employees, and others participated in the program held in Tundikhel. Prime Minister Prachanda addressed the program.

To make the ceremony festive, the Nepali Army rained rain from a helicopter bearing the National Democracy Day, 2079 banner, while pigeons, messengers of peace, and colorful balloons were flown from the ground. At the event, Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force presented a march pass as well as tunes and bands of national songs.
Since 2008, the Democracy Day Main Ceremony Committee has been organizing a special ceremony at Sainik Manch.
