On Friday, the initial surgery for Dr. Chandra Bhandari, a Nepali Congress leader, and lawmaker who suffered injuries in an LPG gas explosion, was successfully completed.
Chandra Bhandari’s first surgery successful
Following the incident on Wednesday night at his home in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, Bhandari and his mother, Harikala Bhandari, were both injured. Unfortunately, Harikala passed away during treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.
Bhandari was subsequently transferred to the National Burn Centre in Mumbai, India, where he received further treatment.

Despite encountering a deep injury in his right leg during the surgery, the chief surgeon, Dr. Sunil Keswani, confirmed that it is now normal. According to NC leader Yograj Kandel, Bhandari is currently undergoing additional treatment at the National Burn Centre. Shree Airlines transported him to Mumbai via aircraft for further treatment after his initial treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.
