On February 19, the host Bhadrapur Blazers will play the Jaigaon Football Club of India in the opening match of the “First Mustang Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup-2079” football competition.

This information was included in the match schedule that was made available at an event on Monday at Mechi Stadium. The match schedule was revealed jointly by Dipesh Dhakal, chair of the Jhapa Gold Cup committee, and KP Sharma, chair of the CPN-UML and former prime minister.

Ten teams in all, including three international football clubs, are taking part in the competition, which will last through February 28. The Druk Lhayul Football Club of Bhutan, Cowwarn Bazar Pragati Sangh FC of Dhaka, Bangladesh, departmental teams like the Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force Club, Sankata Club, Church Boys United, and Machhindra Club are among the additional teams listed by the tournament’s organizers.

According to Dhakal, all preparations for the event are complete, including setting up the stadium to hold 20,000 people.

The first-place finisher in the Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup will receive Rs. 700,000, while the winner will take home Rs. 1.3 million. An estimated Rs 15 million would be spent on the competition.

The best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder, best striker, best coach, top scorer, and the first scorer in the championship game will all get cash prizes totaling Rs 25,000 in addition to the cash reward of Rs 100,000 given to the best player of the competition. Every game of the competition will award the winning player with Rs. 20,000.
