Today marks the beginning of the fourth annual “Karnali Utsab,” which is being held at the Bulbule garden in Birendranagar, Surkhet.

Kamal Lamsal, the coordinator of the organizing Riti Foundation, stated that the event will continue until February 19 and will bring together stakeholders, experts, and scholars from a variety of fields for in-depth discussions and interactions on issues ranging from the local to the national level.
Lamsal said that the structure of the event had been planned in order to include the overarching ideas of Karnali.
It has been reported that there will be 16 sessions, and there will be more than 60 speakers participating in the event.
This is the day that Raj Kumar Sharma, Chief Minister of Karnali Province, is set to officially launch the event.
The presentations of Kebal Prasad Bhandari, Secretary of the National Planning Commission, and Kiran Kumar Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of Rastriya Banijya Bank, are scheduled to take place during the first session of this edition.
In a same vein, the former chief election commissioner Bhojraj Pokharel was going to offer a speech on elections and democracy, and the Vice Chancellor of Mid-West University, Professor Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh, was going to talk about the Karnali Chintan.
The event organizer mentioned that there will be cultural programming throughout the nights of the festival.
