A local organization, Dhinimhendo Tamang Utthan Samaj, took the initiative and spent Rs 7 million to create the Buddha idol.

As far as we know, the funding for the same came from the local community and government.

The statue was unveiled by parliamentarian Gokul Prasad Baskota on the occasion of the special Lhosar cultural festival.

He expressed his belief that placing an idol of the Lord Buddha would encourage more visitors to the area.

Rajkumar Moktan, the chair of the Samaj, announced that donors had contributed Rs 2 million and the government Rs 5 million for the installation of the idol.
