According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the embassy on September 27, 2019, the construction of the building was to be finished by August 2022. However, its development was concluded in March 2022. The duration of the contract was prolonged owing to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Minister Acharya stated at the time that the history of diplomatic ties between Nepal and Japan was quite amicable. In addition, he promised all possible cooperation from the provincial government for the enhancement of health services.
During the occasion, Japanese Ambassador Yukata recommended the building’s optimal utilization. He stated that the district operates the maternity facility to guarantee the safe delivery and rearing of children.
Ambassador Yukata added that the assistance was offered to construct the maternity facility in Dang in order to channel support for the promotion of safe maternity services and the improvement of infant health.
Note that the Japanese government donated 10 million rupees in financial help for building development, service growth, and quality delivery.
The aid funds were used to acquire health equipment and appliances, such as machines for uterine cancer screening, an ultrasound machine, a maternity bed, a semi-automated analyzer for laboratory service extension, a microscope, and a centrifuge to extend health services.
