The inaugural “Peace Marathon” is slated to take place in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, on April 6.

Lumbini to host ‘Peace Marathon’

The event will be held on April 6 in conjunction with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace by the provincial administration and the Nepal Olympic Committee (IDSDP).

For the purpose of motivating athletes, the Lumbini Provincial Council resolved at a meeting that ended in Butwal to hold the event among other sports contests.

The group resolved to launch initiatives aimed at the province’s sports industry after acknowledging the urgent need to develop sports in the region.
