A few weeks after a man self-immolated in Kathmandu, a second man attempted to self-immolate in Jhapa.
Jhapa: Man tries to commit self-immolation
According to the District Police Office of Jhapa, a guy from Birtamod-7 tried self-immolation in Birtamod Muktichowk by spraying himself with gasoline.
Burned, he was rescued and sent to the hospital.
The injured guy is being treated at the B&C Hospital in Birtamod, according to DSP Khagendra Rijal, a spokesperson for the Jhapa Police. His back is scorched.
The reason for the attempted self-immolation remains unknown.
DSP Rijal noted that an inquiry is underway to determine further information.
