The government and the Election Commission were alerted to the need to eliminate the legal barriers to the President’s election following a meeting of the party officeholders held at the residence of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Dhumbarahi.
According to their spokesperson, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, they have chosen to enlist the assistance of other parliamentary parties in their efforts to elect the President.
By February 12, he stated, the presidential election should take place.
We have heard that the government is attempting to postpone the election, which is unacceptable, said Dr. Mahat.
Dr. Shashank Koirala, the leader of the NC, declared that his party would file a presidential campaign.
He declared, “Nepali Congress will nominate a candidate for the election of President.
