The latest Pfizer vaccine, Bivalent, has arrived in Nepal in quantities of 345 000 doses.
New Bivalent Vaccine arrives in Kathmandu
The vaccination came on Monday, according to Surendra Chaurasiya, Chief of the Supply Management Division, Department of Health Services.
He stated that the Department at Teku will hold the vaccination obtained through GAVI.
The newly introduced Bivalent vaccination will be administered as a booster dose in Nepal.
This vaccination is thought to be effective against the Corona Virus Omicron subvariant.
Accordingly, 345 thousand doses of the vaccine have been brought today. Under the COVAX facility, Nepal will get a total of 1.5 million doses of the Bivalent vaccination in four phases.
