Prime Minister Prachanda initiates efforts to bring Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and Unified Socialist Party into the government after the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) quit.
PM Prachanda trying to get JSP & Unified Samajbadi together
He has already begun discussions with some party leaders and is trying to avoid a potential withdrawal of support from JSP and Samajwadi, who hold 12 and 10 seats respectively in the House of Representatives. The Prime Minister’s Office sources confirm two rounds of talks with JSP leaders have taken place.
It is politically convenient for JSP and Samajwadi to participate in the government since they had already given a vote of confidence to PM Dahal. The cabinet currently has five vacant ministries and the PM can appoint five ministers and one minister of state.
