Lamichhane, the former head of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is reportedly traveling to the Kathmandu District Administration Office to gain a certificate of citizenship by completing all legal requirements.

Friday, the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court ousted Lamichhane, who became the Chairman and a member of Parliament without completing the process of regaining his Nepali citizenship despite having surrendered his American citizenship. His citizenship was pronounced illegitimate.
