Shahnaz Rahman, a politician with the Janata Samajbadi Party, passed away from a heart attack today. She was 64. At Thimi’s Madyapur Hospital, she passed away.
According to Superintendent of Police Prajit KC, Rahman suddenly passed out while taking part in a picnic at Ghyampedanda in Suryabinayak Municipality-3 in the Bhaktapur district today. She was soon taken to the hospital where the medical staff pronounced her dead, he said.
Rahman, a JSP central member who now resides in Mid Baneshwor in Kathmandu and is originally from Bhadrapur Municipality-6 in the Jhapa district, was elected to the House of Representatives by proportional representation from the Muslim cluster.

The police said that preparations were being made to transport her body for the after-death procedure after she had gone through the hospital’s legal procedures.
