Shree Panchami is being celebrated in Nepal today
For current and new students, this is a very special day. Students take early baths, participate in school Saraswati Pujas, visit temples, and listen to Basanta Shrawan.
Many educational institutions hold special morning prayers or pujas to seek the goddess’ grace.
Some villages hold poetic and musical events in honor of Saraswati.
Many families celebrate this day by sitting with their young children and helping them to write their first words with their fingers, while others simply study or make music together.
Goddess Saraswati is known by several names, including Bharati, Sharada, Jagatmata, Bageshwari, Kaumari, Baradayani, and Kamdhenu.
This event is observed by Hindu and Sikh populations, primarily in Nepal and eastern India. The festival is thought to herald the start of the spring season.
