The renowned Taplejung neighborhood of Pathibhara has experienced snowfall twice this session.
Snow falls in the Pathibhara area
Since previous night, there has been snowfall along with rain. The district’s mountainous region has seen snowfall as a result of the rain that has fallen since Monday.
Little snowfall is now occurring in the neighborhood of the Pathibhara temple, according to Rajendra Mahat, a worker at the Pathibhara Area Development Committee.
He said, “There was two feet of snow in the temple area.
He said that snowfall has reached Kaflepati, the lowermost point in the well-known pilgrimage site Pathibhara region, which is at an elevation of 3,794 meters.
Nonetheless, heavy snowfall has been experienced in the higher hill locations. Locals reported snowfall of up to one foot in Faktanglung Rural Municipality’s various regions.
Similarly, snow was falling in the adjacent communities of Terhathum and Sankhuwasabha as well as in the Tinjure Milke Jaljale portions of the rural municipality of Maiwakhola.
On February 27, this year, snow fell in Taplejung’s mountainous regions.
Snowfall, however, had begun in the region the previous year as early as January.
The farmers are happy with the snowfall and rain this time. Snow and rain that fell at the ideal moment for growing crops, notably maize, brought comfort to farmers.
According to residents, it has also relieved farmers who grow lucrative crops like tomatoes and cardamom.
