Sunflower growing has drawn the interest of farmers in Chitwan.
According to Chandra Prasad Adhikari, one of the farm’s proprietors, a group of four farmers in Sripur, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15, have produced sunflowers on a total of about three bighas of land.
He said that the Chitwan-based Agricultural Knowledge Centre (AKC) had helped by giving seeds, fertilizer, and an irrigation system. Almost two bighas of land have also been used to cultivate mustard.

With a pause of a few years, Adhikari began farming ten years ago.
Again, he remarked, we began an organic sunflower farm together. “In 2032 BS, I began growing carrots. I stopped working in agriculture a few years later. Increased output of carrots. But it doesn’t have any market worth,” he claimed.
Sunflower growing does not require a significant financial commitment. So, he claimed, it has drawn the attention of the local farmers.
Farmers may provide consumers with better sunflower oil at a reasonable price, which helps push out undesirable cooking oil from the market, according to the farmer.
Both visitors and TikTokers are drawn to farming.

Tourists and TikTokers have been to this location due to the blossoming sunflowers. They each pay an admission fee of Rs 100. Having them here makes us feel wonderful, he added.
According to him, 65 beehives have also been kept in the sunflower field to produce honey.
Suruchi Tripathi, the agricultural officer for the AKC, said that the Center helped cultivate oil seeds on 100 hectares of land in the districts of Chitwan and Makawanpur.
“Farmers in this area are interested in farming. As a result, the Center has motivated them,” she stated.
