The CPN-UML has made the decision to leave the Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda administration.
The party’s secretariat voted to leave the administration and stop supporting it at a meeting this morning.
The ruling coalition fell when the Maoist Center backed the Nepali Congress for president, in violation of the agreement struck on December 25, 2022, during the creation of the government.

However, the UML had previously made the choice to postpone the execution of the December 25 accord until after the presidential election on March 9.
But after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal prevented Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Poudel from traveling to Geneva, the UML party made the decision to resign.
