Before the forthcoming March 26 deadline, Tribhuvan University (TU) has pushed to complete the Free Student Union (FSU) elections on all of its components and associated campuses.
In light of the TU test schedule starting on March 26, TU Vice Chancellor Pro Dr. Dharmakant Baskota has instructed those campuses where the election was suspended on March 19 to ensure it before the specified deadline.
As he stated, TU examinations are set to begin on March 26 and the election shouldn’t interfere with those plans.
Before the start of the examinations, campuses, political parties, student organizations, and local government have been asked to resolve their differences and set the stage for the election.
As he stated, the election was generally calm on most campuses, despite some colleges postponing it due to widespread disagreements.
It should be mentioned that 13 campuses out of the 62 member institutions have called off the election.
These campuses are Bishwo Bhasha Campus, RR Campus, Amrit Science Campus, Patan Multiple Campus, and Nepal Commerce Campus.
Prithvi Narayan Campus, Paschimanchal Engineering Campus, Institute of Forestry and Pokhara Nursing Campus, Thakur Ram Multiple Campus in Birgunj, Birendra Multiple Campus in Chitwan, Dhawalagiri Multiple Campus in Baglung, and Shree Sidhhanath Science Multiple Campus in Mahendranagar are all Pokhara-based institutions where it has also been suspended.
After 14 years, an election was held, and students participated enthusiastically.
Although held every two years, the election has proven unreliable since 2065 BS. The Tri-Chandra Campus election has been delayed until March 23.
