The ruling CPN-UML secretariat is meeting. After Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal prevented Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudyal from going to Geneva, UML called a secretariat meeting. The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. at the Central Office Chasal Lalitpur.

CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has informed that the meeting of the party secretariat will be held today at 11 o’clock regarding the suspension of the foreign minister’s visit approved by the council of ministers.
While nominating the presidential candidate, the UML leaders said that they will not leave the government until the presidential election. After Foreign Minister Paudyal was barred from going to Geneva at the last moment on Sunday, the voice that UML should leave the government has been raised again.

UML Vice President Ashtalakshmi Shakya said that today’s meeting may discuss whether she will remain in the government or not.
UML Central Office Secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari said that the meeting will discuss the latest political developments as well as the presidential election.
CPN-UML has nominated Subas Nemwang, the vice-president of the party, as its presidential candidate. His competition will be with Ramchandra Paudel of Nepali Congress, the common candidate of the eight-party alliance. The presidential election will be held on Falgun 25.
Maoist Chairman Prachanda, who became the Prime Minister on Paush 10 with the support of UML, formed an eight-party alliance with the Congress, and UML is angry with him. The same eight-party alliance has made Poudel of the Congress the common candidate for the presidency. After that, UML is deciding whether to leave the government or not. The RPP has also withdrawn its support while leaving the government.
