Arun Kumar Chaudhary, a member of parliament from Kailali-2, was found guilty of starting a fire 13 years ago and sentenced to 6 months in jail. He has now been sent to jail.
On Thursday, he was caught in Banke.
On Friday morning, the police took him to the Kailali District Court.

Section 155 of the Civil Code of Criminal Procedure Act of 2074 says, “A sum may be paid for less than one year of imprisonment.”
In 2066 BS, three people, including Chaudhary, were found guilty of setting fire to a tractor. The Kailali District Court gave each of them six months in prison and a fine of Rs 8 lakh 75 thousand.
On April 22, 2013, the district court of Kailali found the three guilty and gave them jail time and a fine.
Even almost a decade after the verdict, the accused were still on the run.
Bir Bahadur Chaudhary was arrested a week ago. He was one of the people who were found guilty.

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has been against MP Chaudhary being jailed.
Ranjita Shrestha, the leader of the Party, said that the MP was arrested even though permission from the Speaker should have been asked for.
